Tucked away down a little side street GL50 is one of Cheltenham’s best kept secrets and a stand-out fine-dining experience.

 

Cheshire-born owner and chef Jonas Lodge started his cooking career in Oxford under Raymond Blanc and has since worked with Sergio Arola, Paul Heathcote and Heston Blumenthal, GL50 is the culmination of all his experience and a pretty special place to eat out at.

 

This simply furnished bistro (where the chefs bring the food to your table) serves up exceptional, locally-sourced and seasonal produce in a relaxed fine-dining atmosphere. One of the best places to eat on the Cheltenham foodie scene, expect modern British cooking at its very best; the food here is quite literally a work of art.

 

Now featured in the Michelin Good Food Guide 2021, GL50’s philosophy is all about sustainability and zero waste. Lodge and his team aim to get the best out of their ingredients, where any part of the meat, fruit or vegetable can be used – it is. Never tried chocolate and malted cabbage ice cream? It’s about time.
