New Brewery Arts
A hip, creative hub connecting people with craft workshops and handmade artisan wares - New Brewery Arts is a unique destination in the heart of the Cotswolds.
At Muddy we love this one-stop centre with its galleries, artists’ studios, café and artisan shop. Want to master ceramic-making, throw some funky pots, or learn the art of Medieval pin cushioning? There’s the best choice of classes we’ve ever seen with more than 200 workshops to lose yourself in, from traditional heritage skills to cutting edge modern crafts.
Located in a pretty piazza in the heart of Cirencester, New Brewery Arts is the kind of place you could spend a whole day. Take a course then grab some lunch at it’s quirky café, which has a delicious menu starring homemade, Fairtrade, organic and vegan options (we often come here just for a toastie and smoothie). Sit inside on the squidgy sofas with your hot chocolate enjoying the arty vibe or meet with friends outside in the suntrap courtyard.
The shop is one of our favourites too when we’re looking for gifts, if you love handmade artisan wares you’ll adore this. New Brewery Arts is a charity that connects people with the handmade (for more than 40 years now) and you’ll find it packed to the old wooden beams with gorgeous items from more than 500 craftspeople, designers and makers across the UK. A lovingly curated collection of handmade pieces that you won’t find in the big high street stores. Throughout the year you can meet makers and browse brilliant, seasonal exhibitions, such as the fabulous Tatty Devine exhibition coming in Summer 2021 ( 19th June – 5th Sept).
There is also great guest accommodation here in the shape of the Barrel Store adjacent to the complex. Stylish and affordable, it’s a great base for trying a workshop or class, or as a perfectly positioned base for exploring the Cotswolds.
