No lunch or dinner plans? Then get yourself down to this artisan fish and chip shop. The Chip Shed is run and owned by fish and chip enthusiasts and friends, Gregg Howard and Dan Chuter.
Serving up the ultimate in comfort food (who doesn’t love a chippy supper!) from three modern restaurants in Gloucestershire (and one in Warwick), you’ll find them dishing up boxes of fresh and fluffy fish and crispy chips in Minchinhampton (takeaway only), Bourton-on-the-Water (eat in or takeaway) and a fancy, newly opened Cheltenham branch (eat in or takeaway).
There’s a big emphasis on quality and provenance here, so you’ll only get British fish on your plate that has been ethically and responsibly sourced. With years of experience behind them, the duo are bringing back good ol’ fashioned fish and chips, done simply. No fandangled Kimchi fried-fish and quinoa here, instead just properly satisfying, authentic fish and chips.
Members of the National Federation of Fish Fryers, Gregg was also the president of the organisation for 10+ years. The Chip Shed has also been recognised as one of the countries top fish and chip shops at the national awards and won best hospitality business at the recent Pride of Warwick District Awards.
There’s a well curated menu from the standard fish and chips to handmade fishcakes and even burgers, all with the usual sides such as beans or peas. Staying in to eat? Do it in style with a glass or three of wine or champagne.
