Superflashy Newsflash

What's hot on the block this month? Look no further. Your resident Muddy newshound has been on patrol and we have some fabulous stuff for you this month. Read on not to miss out ...

First up, some openings that have got us weak at the knees …

Ever sat around having a late night drink with friends and thought “this gin would be perfect with a bit of cheesecake”?! Well so did the folks at The Urban Fox and they created a new concept around it – the cupcake and cocktail cafe (oh hello!). And lucky for us they are bringing this intoxicating combo to Cheltenham. You will also be able to get bottomless brunches, do cocktail masterclasses and order High Tea – Muddy reckons it’s going to be the place to be seen. Located at Number 4 Montpellier Walk and spread over two floors with easily bookable areas.

Also, we hear a brand new Sushi Restaurant is coming to Cheltenham (details to be unveiled soon so watch this space) and, if amazing Indian street food is your thing, Mowgli Street Food is also opening at the Brewery Centre in Cheltenham. Expect incredible Indian street market dishes from Yoghurt Chat Bombs to Treacle Tamarind Fries. The chain is also fully-family friendly (including dogs!). It looks pretty special and we can’t wait to dine out here.

It feels like we’ve been waiting a lifetime for some F.U.N, so Muddy is thrilled to hear The Parking Lot Social Easter Festival is coming to Cheltenham.

Taking place at the Racecourse on Tuesday 6 April and Wednesday 7 April, this brilliant drive-in brings with it everything from Harry Potter to RuPaul’s Drag Race and more. Expect six events including Social Kids on Tuesday 6 April 2021, from 2pm, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban on Tuesday 6 April 2021, from 5.30pm and The Greatest Showman on Wednesday 7 April 2021, from 6.30pm. There will also be a Social Kids family fun event at the South Car Boot Site on 13 April from a DJ-led party to car-a-oke and party bingo. Revellers will also be able to order food from their vehicle. Gates open at 1pm – book your tickets online now.

With stay-cays due to be top of the list again this year, how about hanging out in Hudnalls Hideout – a luxurious adults-only treehouse in St Briavel in the Forest of Dean! It is featured on the brand new Channel 4 television show Sandi Toksvig’s Extraordinary Escapes this Spring.

Described as featuring ‘some of the UK’s wildest, most remote and beautifully-designed holiday hideaways’ take a tour of the gorgeous Glos treehouse on catch-up.

Although it opened in February 2020, the pandemic has kept it under lock and key almost ever since. But this amazing retreat is now taking bookings again and is set to reopen from 12 April 2021.

Scenic Suppers, Moreton-in-Marsh, Glos, from April 12th for 6 months

This year the Scenic Supper (the best food you’ll ever eat in a greenhouse with added gin!) is putting down roots at its new home – in the pastures of Todenham Manor Farm near Moreton-in-Marsh. There will be seven brand new sustainably built glasshouses and a brand new King Stone Gin bar too, serving craft cocktails, English sparkling wine, and local booze. Expect locally sourced food and a signature 5-course menu. The glasshouses host parties of two and four through this 6 months’ residency.

Retail ravens rejoice! Sandersons Boutique Department Store is opening its third UK venue in Stroud’s super-cool Five Valleys shopping centre.

This award-winning store will house a myriad of fabulous fashion brands including Cheltenham-based designer fashion house Holland Cooper, Barbour, Ugg, Max Mara and many more.

It’s set to open on 14 April so keep your eyes trained on Muddy for more news soon, including a fantastic Reader Treat giveaway exclusive to Muddy readers (to be announced very soon!).

And in other news at Five Valleys the amazing Non Solo Pasta is set to reopen with a special sit in and dine area on 25 March, so you can enjoy a glass of wine with your freshly cooked pasta (heaven), or feast on fluffy pulled pork buns to your heart’s content when Bao Ma opens in the Spring too. We’re going to need stretchier pants.

And, last but not least, something exciting is happening on the site of the Old Post Office in Cirencester. The Ivy Nail Lounge is opening and we personally can’t wait (nails = chewed stumps – anyone else?). Rushing to our manicure rescue is this funky new salon, they open 12 April – check them out on Insta and show them some love.

And, until 20 March enter their launch giveaway of a mani/pedi, champagne cream tea, AND a £500 spending spree!
