A gathering of 45+ top antique, vintage and art dealers from across the UK, it&#8217;s brimming gleaming silver and statement jewellery, stylish ceramics, glassware, fine art and quirky finds. Expect a delicious mix of eras too, from elegant Art Nouveau to contemporary sculpture.</p>

<p>Taking place from <strong>Fri 17 April &#8211; Sun 19 April</strong> from 11am to 4.30pm, find it at the stunning Westonbirt School (yes, the one that looks like it belongs in a period drama), with stalls spilling out through the Great Hall, Orangery and beyond. It’s equal parts shopping and like being in your own episode of <em>Bridgerton</em>. </p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-do-i-need-to-be-loaded-though">Do I need to be loaded though?</h2>



<p>Absolutely not. You can pick up a gem for under £20, right up to rare investment antiques north of £20,000. In short: come for a browse, leave plotting how to rearrange your house around your new favourite piece.</p>

<p>Well, as you ask&#8230; yes! BAFTA awards are coming to Westonbirt. Specifically two rare and iconic ones. These equivalents of the Oscars are being offered by exhibitor James Dillon from Space Electric in Bath. Get your mitts on a striking acrylic prototype design in sapphire blue by the original artist designer Mitzi Cunliffe, from circa 1985 &#8211; for a mere £5,500.</p>



<p>And, an earlier and more familiar version of the award will also be on offer; a solid unpolished solid bronze cast to Mitzi Cunliffe’s original 1955 model for £5,600. Unpolished examples are rare: most awards are patinated before presentation, making this an exceptional collector’s piece.</p>

<p>There are 45+ stalls to peruse, so we challenge you not to find some incredible gems. But we love the retro vintage art and posters for sale at local dealer Andy Maule&#8217;s stall. From 1950&#8217;s travel posters to this vintage French vintage beauty for luxury Swiss shoe brand Bally by the renowned graphic artist Bernard Villemot (priced at £5!).</p>

<p>It’s easy to fall for a stunning sideboard or a piece of statement artwork, but will it fit your space? Bring a tape measure and take some photos in advance of your home and the space, it&#8217;ll really help you visualise placement and proportion.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-2-don-t-be-deterred-by-signs-of-age">2. Don’t be deterred by signs of age</h2>



<p>A little wear and tear can add character and authenticity to an antique. Whether it’s a slight patina on a silver tea set or an old repair on a wooden cabinet, these features often enhance an item’s charm and value.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-3-don-t-be-afraid-to-mix-styles-and-eras">3. Don’t be afraid to mix styles and eras</h2>



<p>Antiques don’t have to sit in traditional settings. A Victorian mirror can add grandeur to a modern bathroom, a mid-century lamp can bring character to a contemporary living room and a Georgian chest of drawers can look stunning in a modern home. Eclectic combinations create depth and personality.</p>

<p>Think beyond an item’s original function. An antique trunk can become a stylish coffee table, vintage silver toast racks can hold letters, and apothecary drawers can make perfect storage for small essentials.</p>

<p>See a piece you love, but it needs some work? Many dealers can recommend expert restorers, whether for a simple polish or a full refurbishment to bring an item back to its former glory.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-6-be-prepared-to-act-fast">6. Be prepared to act fast</h2>



<p>If you love something, don’t hesitate. Many pieces are one-of-a-kind, and if you walk away, someone else might snap it up before you return. Vendors will have cash machines, but bringin cash with you could secure an even better price!</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-7-plan-ahead-for-transport">7. Plan ahead for transport</h2>



<p>Fallen in love with something enormous!? The fair works with specialist shippers who can arrange secure transport for larger items. If you’re purchasing smaller pieces, bring bags or protective wrapping to keep them safe.</p>
