EASTER EGG HUNTS

Easter Adventure, Sudeley Castle, Cheltenham, 28 Mar – 12 April

This Easter spring into action with a fun‑packed family day out at Sudeley Castle. Set in 1,000 acres of glorious countryside, wander through 10 vibrant gardens bursting into bloom and discover four giant golden eggs with playful Easter activities along the way.

Join the regal excitement of Hunt the Queen’s Hare (and get a treat if you succeed) and enjoy a special programme of Easter weekend events. On Easter weekend history comes alive with an extra special Easter show, hosted by Queen Elizabeth I and her travelling court.

Easter Eggstravaganza , 28 Mar – 12 April, Over Farm, Gloucester

Time for a full-blown Easter eggstravaganza, running daily throughout the school holidays from 28 March to 12 April. Expect peak farm-park fun with plenty of value for families and enough to fill an entire day outdoors.

The Eggstravaganza mixes full access to the farm park with a rolling schedule of special events, from live shows and chocolate egg hunts to animal encounters and circus-style entertainment.

Wellies very much encouraged. Spend the day roaming wide open spaces, meeting friendly farmyard residents, bouncing between adventure play areas and hopping aboard tractor trailers and quad trains – wholesome, outdoorsy fun with a big lungful of fresh country air thrown in for good measure.

Egg Trail, Painswick Rococo Garden, 28 Mar – 19 April

Soak up the Eat spirit at Rococo’s fun Family Trail. What’s in store? Young egg hunters will spot curious animals around the garden, tucked amongst the trees and follies. Design a magical egg masterpiece, kids get to decorate their own magical egg. Flamingo legs and monkey ears with rainbow wings? Anything goes. Adults; £12.80, kids: £6.

Easter Egg Hunt, Chedworth Roman Villa, 28 Mar – 12 April

Do this great family-friendly trail at Glos’s Roman Villa. Make your way along the trail and find activities for the whole family. On from 10am to 4pm, trail prices are £3.50, which includes an Easter- trail sheet, bunny ears and a dairy or vegan and Free From chocolate egg.

Then, celebrate Easter with Mosaic Madness – a family activity filled with a thousand pieces of fun. Try your hand at creating colourful magnetic mosaic patterns, and enjoy mosaic‑inspired games that bring ancient art to life.

Easter at Blenheim Palace, Blenheim Palace, 3 – 6 April

There’s a whole host of activities and entertainment this Easter bank holiday weekend. Take the mini train down to the Walled Garden for activities from circus shows to a fabulous vintage fairground and up-close encounters with weird and wonderful egg-laying creatures, and a giant wicker egg trail. And of course, the Easter Bunny himself waiting to greet you.

Plus – grab your spot in the big top to see an amazing circus show, and if little ones are keen to learn some of the tricks themselves there will also be circus skill workshops running daily.

Easter Egg Hunt, Dyrham Park, 21 March – 19 April

Make your way along the trail and find nature-inspired activities at Dyrham. The trail takes place between 10am to 5pm with 10 awesome activity stations along the way, as you explore the beautiful grounds. The price of the trail is £3.50 each and includes a trail map, pencil and a chocolate egg at the end. You can choose from either a chocolate egg or a vegan and Free From chocolate egg.

SHOWTIME

Waterfield, Giffords Circus, Fennells Farm, Stroud, 02 – 20 April

The extraordinary Giffords troupe is back to amaze for the 26th year. Waterfield is a magical story inspired by the English countryside. Set along a lively riverbank the show follows colourful characters as they bring the landscape to life through knee-shaking acts, hilarious comedy and live music. No Tweedy in the ring this year, but expect all the thrills and spills of a spectacular Giffords show. Book quick – it sells out fast!

Mother Goose, Roses Theatre, Tewkesbury, 2 – 3 April

Easter Panto? Yes it’s a thing. And this one at The Roses is a great choice for the family. Welcome to Goose Farm, where Mother Goose her silly son Wally are the proud owners of the magical Priscilla – what follows is an extravaganza of song, dance, splendid sets, colourful costumes and total belly laughs. Tickets from £18.

KARAOKE

Karaoke, Gloucester Tenpin, Gloucester

Got tweens or teens to entertain? Let them go wild and live their best Alex Warren or Taylor lives at this cool karaoke experience in Gloucester. The karaoke rooms hold up to 10 singers so come along and release your inner diva. With thousands of songs, there’ll be a karaoke classic or rock hit that’s right up your street. The party packages are always a huge hit too.

CRAFTY KIDS

Pot Decorating: Paint, Plant & Personalise

Let your imagination blossom as you design and decorate your very own flower pot! Using bright paints, colourful stencils, and a sprinkle of creativity, little gardeners can create a masterpiece ready to take home.

Planting Sunflowers: Grow a Little Sunshine

Once your pot is ready, plant your sunflower seeds and learn how to nurture them as they grow tall and strong. It’s the perfect way to get hands-on with nature and bring a touch of sunshine to your windowsill or garden.

Each child will receive an activity sheet filled with games, puzzles, and colouring pages and each child will receive a complimentary drink and can nibble on a fruit of their choice. Tickets £9.99.

WET & WILD

Cotswold Country Park & Beach, Cirencester, open from 27 March

Cotswold Country Park and Beach reopens for the season on 27 March and there’s so much to do here. All the activities are open during the Easter holidays; dig sandcastles on the beach, hire a boat or take to the pedal karts. Book onto the exhilarating AquaVenture, where you can climb the Mammoth Tower, bounce on the Tornado, and slip and slide on this high energy obstacle course.

Whilst you’re there, take on the Easter Egg Hunt. Look for the painted eggs placed around the park and try to spot the Easter Bunny. Once you have finished the trail, take the completed trail map back to the shop to receive your reward. Costs £6 per child (remember to book Park Car Admission too).

GET SPORTY

Ultimate Activity Camps, Cheltenham and Nailsworth, 30 March – 10 April

If your child is 4-14 years, let Ultimate Activity Camps do the heavy lifting. They’ll develop skills, get active and socialise with new friends. The camps are delivered by qualified, inspiring staff, and there are over 40 activities to choose from, including swimming, bowling and football.

ANIMAL ACTION

Live Lambing, Cotswold Farm Park, Cheltenham, until 19 April

There are all levels of farmyard fun at the Cotswold Farm Park, not least the expected birth of 800 lambs. At the Animal Barn you can watch bundles of fluff being born and skipping around. See newborn piglets, donkey foals, calves and goat kids and burn off the eggs at the playground.

Plus – new for 2026, explore the Easter Garden, a dedicated space in the events field housing all the arts and crafts and activities little ones love will love.

Cracking Easter Fun, Birdland, Bourton-on-the-Water, 28 March – 12 April

As well as Easter trails, quizzes and egg-themed talks and shows, expect some egg-stra special new arrivals in the hatchery. Dozens of eggs in special incubators are due to hatch out over the Easter break and visitors will be able to watch new-born chicks make their entry into the world.

This attraction is home to over 500 birds ranging from England’s only breeding colony of king penguins and awesome birds of prey to parrots, cassowaries and cranes. Pick up an Easter quiz trail on arrival and guess the species of mystery eggs around the park.

Easter Extravaganza at West Midlands Safari Park, 28 March – 12 April, Bewdley

This fantastic day out is a family favourite, with more than 165 species of animal to see, a drive through safari and a mini theme park. Entrance to the park buys you so much fun, from Boj’s Giggle Park, the Sea Lion Show, Penguin Cove, the Aquarium, Meerkat Mayhem, Hippo Lake and more.

Meet Bramble Bunny and Chirpy Chick, take part in a quest to earn a chocolate treat and brand new for this year, see the butterfly stilt walker and help Professor Pollen on his search for the most elusive butterfly in the world.

All Things Wild, Honeybourne, Evesham

You can’t trust the weather in April, right? So this indoor-outdoor zoo is a great place to take them without worrying about the not-so-great British rainclouds. Let them go wild at the adventure play park, beach area, pedal go-karts and the Jungle Mayhem indoor play area. There is a rainbow array of animals to meet and squeal at or ride the Dino Train. COOKERY CLASSES

Budding Baker s, Dayleford, 1 April

Take them to this excellent Easter class at Daylesford. The friendly tutors will teach the budding bakers how to make special treats with a combination of demonstration and hands-on baking. Each student will take home a box of their hand-crafted goodies. Expect both traditional and inventive recipes, with a seasonal twist for Easter and Christmas. Aimed at children aged between 9 – 13 years. From 9am – 1pm, £75pp.

HISTORY HOUNDS

Living History Display, Berkeley Castle, 4 – 6 April

Head to Berkeley Castle for an action-packed journey back to the 17th century as it transforms into a Civil War battleground. Witness infantry and cavalry re-enactments that bring this pivotal moment in English history to life. There are exciting arena displays, music and more. Experience the sights and sounds of the era as soldiers march, muskets fire, and cavalry charge through the castle grounds. Kids can also have a go at some of their own medieval dancing.

NATURE NUTS

The Gruffalo Trail, Westonbirt Arboretum, Glos

If you venture into the deep dark wood you may bump into the Gruffalo, the Gruffalo’s Child and other characters from the book too! Each sculpture has been carved in a different position – can you find them all? Get your map at the Welcome Building on arrival. Or, do the excellent Wallace & Gromit or Stick Man Trails.

Easter Adventures, C roome, Upton-upon-Severn, from 12 April

Take them for an Easter adventure in nature at Croome. There’s a family-friendly trail with fun activities for you to do along the way. Make your way along the trail and find nature-inspired activities for the whole family. The trail takes place between 23 March – 7 April 2024, from 10am to 5pm, with last entry at 4pm, so come along and explore the beautiful gardens and parkland of Croome. Prices are £3.50 per trail which includes an Easter trail sheet, bunny ears and dairy or vegan and Free From* chocolate egg.

Forest of Dean, April

With a rich history and vast array of wildlife, the Forest of Dean is a magical place to explore for the whole family. From wandering around the Sculpture Trail at Beechenhurst, tucking into a picnic at Cannop Ponds, to spotting birds of prey at Symonds Yat Rock. If you love a thrill head for Go Ape at Mallards Pike and Beechenhurst, as well as a range of mountain biking trails at the Forest of Dean Cycle Centre.

Up to two kids can eat free all day when one adult orders any main dish (breakfast, lunch or dinner) at Bill’s. Head down and save some pennies.
