<a href="https://www.royalthreecounties.co.uk/">Royal Three Counties Show</a> is one of the UK’s largest celebrations of our glorious British countryside and rural life, and it swings open its gates at the spectacular <a href="https://glosworcs.muddystilettos.co.uk/little-black-book/directory/three-counties-showground-malvern-gloucestershire-worcestershire/">Three Counties Showground</a> from 14 &#8211; 16 June.



Eek! But where to start?&#8230; There&#8217;s so much to pack into a visit from exciting new experiences to live music, delicious food and drink, and – of course – lots and lots of animals! 



Here is everything you need to know, and what to make a beeline for at this year&#8217;s fantastic show.







<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-1-unique-animal-encounters">1) Unique animal encounters</h2>

The show features one of the country’s biggest exhibitions of cattle, sheep, pigs and goats, including rare and native breeds. If you’re an animal lover, it’s well worth a visit, with over 8,000 animals on site across the long weekend.



The ever-popular Grand Parade of Livestock is a quintessential feature of the Royal Three Counties Show – if you’re a first-time visitor, head here to get an insight into the heritage of the show and see some really fantastic beasts.



New for 2024 is a brand-new British Showjumping Area with dramatic showjumping classes to entertain visitors of all ages. On Saturday, Italian equestrian and three-time Olympian, Vittoria Panizzon, will display her expertise and skill in masterclasses and course walks.

On Sunday, the Main Arena will host a new Racehorse to Riding Horse Parade. See the magnificent racehorses as they proudly parade around the ring. And don&#8217;t miss the adorable mini spotted ponies, Rolo and Sprout, proudly show off their tricks in entertaining performances at the Countryside Area. 



For any budding jockeys, the Pony Racing Authority give children the chance to experience the thrill of race riding and the chance to race against one another on mechanical horses!

If you’re looking for a fun day out that all ages can enjoy, the Royal Three Counties Show really does have something for everyone, and with under 16s free of charge, it’s a great way to spend a summer’s day.



Head to the Bees and Honey Tent where kids can create bee sculptures and collages, shoebox gardens, do bee photography, and take part in delicious cookery competitions. See live bees working away in a hive, while adults can try their hand at beeswax sculptures and candle-making. 



Over at the new Smallholders’ Village, youngsters can enjoy getting their hands dirty digging for their dinner in the popular Potato Dig and learn all about growing veg.

The Adventure Avenue is the place to go for cooking workshops, fencing and laser target shooting run by members of the Pentathlon GB team, The Midlands Air Ambulance will have a helicopter pod on display, the British Army will be hosting a variety of cool STEM activities, and the Royal Navy will be on hand to teach visitors how submarines ‘dive’.



There’s also vintage funfair rides, a family selfie photo trail plus – of course – plenty of opportunities to meet friendly animals of all shapes and sizes.

Every year, Royal Three Counties Show showcases some of the UK’s very best food and drink producers. From asparagus to apples, potatoes to pears, and cider to cheese.



Head to the new indoor Food and Shopping Hall, located inside Severn Hall, to pick up some delicious produce to enjoy at home. The Boffy Arts Farmers Market here will also feature an array of lovingly prepared artisan produce and is well worth a browse.

The Old Bull – a new for 2024 beer tent – will pitch up in pride of place next to the main arena, so you can quaff a refreshing tipple from Westons Cider and Wye Valley Brewery without missing any of the arena action.



After working up an appetite exploring the showground, head to the Food &amp; Drink Festival. Sample some of the region’s finest cider and perry, discover up and coming English wines and tuck into some mouth-watering street food. There’s also a Vintage Tea Tent – the place to go for a slice of cake and a cup of tea – and live music throughout the weekend.

This year’s show welcomes BBC Countryfile and The One Show presenter, Matt Baker MBE, answering those burning questions in two Q&amp;A sessions on Saturday 15 June on the Future of Farming stage (followed by a book signing) and the Food &amp; Drink stage. 



Fellow BBC Countryfile presenter and Newsround presenter John Craven OBE will also take part in a Q&amp;A session followed by a signing of his book, ‘Headlines and Hedgerows: A Memoir’, on the Sunday at the Future of Farming stage.

Don&#8217;t miss his live reading of JB’s charming book ‘Ace and the Animal Heroes’, followed by a chance to meet him and get a signed copy of his book. There will also be chance to catch JB at the Food &amp; Drink Theatre and in the Main Arena, where he will take part in the presentation of the Overall Supreme Livestock Champion of the Show.



Fans of Channel 4’s The Great British Bake Off won’t want to miss the chance to see 2023’s winner, Matty Edgell, put his skills into action on stage at the Food and Drink Theatre, as well as answering questions from the audience and signing copies of his latest book, on Friday 14 and Saturday 15 June.



Meanwhile, fellow 2023 contestant, Sakunthala Chandrasekara (a.k.a Saku) will also join the Food &amp; Drink stage on Saturday 15 June, demonstrating her unique Sri Lankan cooking style with a local twist.

Brace yourself &#8211; extreme thrills incoming! Highlights this year include the Bolddog Lings Freestyle Motorcross stunt display team performing unbelievable, heart-stopping stunts up to 35ft in the air. 



The Red Devils – the British Army’s world-class parachute display team – will freefall from the sky at speeds of up to 120 mph creating spectacular canopy formations to delight visitors of all ages.

And don’t miss the high-octane entertainment provided by the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® Arena, be wowed by the high-speed axe and saw skills on display by these elite athletes. This really has to be seen to be believed!



For something slightly calmer, head to the Countryside Area and marvel at magnificent birds of prey, including eagles, hawks and owls doing aerial acrobatics in interactive displays provided by Hawkeye Falconry. 



The Family Gun Dog and Scurry Area will feature super speedy working gundogs putting their diligent training into action as they navigate jumps and obstacles to retrieve a ball in a thrilling, high-speed race against the clock.
