The walk between Winchester Cathedral and The Wykham Arms

The feeling that I get walking through history, that walk around the Cathedral that takes you to Pilgrim’s School and the big gates in the wall through to a drink at the end — it is the epitome of Englishness!

Stickle Tarn, Langdale, the Lake District

It is a climb, but it was my first experience of “deafening silence” – just stunning. There’s a lake at the top of a mountain which is so peaceful. This picture is me at the top on my birthday last year. I decided to wear a tiara – because – WHY NOT! It was my birthday.

The New Forest

I always get lost, but so enjoy finding a hidden lunch at the end of a walk. I just love how unique it is to have New Forest ponies and donkeys roaming the countryside.

The Blue Mountains, Sydney

I am from Romsey and Winchester but have lived in Australia for the last 16 years. There’s nothing better than heat, snakes, mountains, walking, the smell of the trees and STUNNING views over the eucalyptus trees. In the heat their leaves discharge a fine mist of oil which refracts in the sun creating a blue hue, hence the Blue Mountains.

The Pyrenees, between France and Spain

Last year I walked from France, up over the Pyrenees to Spain. It was an incredible experience of endurance, stamina, will and joy!

The Hampshire Women’s Business Facebook Group

I set this group up and it’s now a thriving space for meeting other like-minded, supportive and encouraging business women… BOOM! It’s the best thing about being back from Australia. I also run off-shoot, face-to-face networking groups in towns across Hampshire including Winchester, Basingstoke, Lymington and Southampton.

I lived in or near Winchester throughout my childhood, but only found this walk last year; it is the English Countryside summed-up in one walk.

Freshwater Beach, Sydney

GAHHH, the beach! It is right next to Manly, but more enclosed, less sharks, more locals and the best in-ocean pool.

St Catherine’s Hill, Winchester

It’s all about the trees at the top! The climb yes, but I love the clump of trees at the top. The space feels so energising!

An airport. Any airport — the start of the next adventure, whether you are leaving or coming home after a break, new adventures await!
