Take a look at her wild and wonderful wedding predictions for 2024.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-1-pearls">1. Pearls</h2>

<p>Go pearl! This timeless classic is making a big return to weddings. They add a touch of classic elegance that never goes out of style and their versatility means they can be used in everything from bridal jewellery and pearl tones on cakes, all the way through to pearl-embellished invitations and balloons.</p>



<p>Get creative with pearls in earrings, a head piece and veil, a bracelet that complements a beautiful dress, or matching accessories in shoes and a clutch bag. Tie everything together seamlessly with bridesmaid gifts linked to pearls and for the gents pick pearl cufflinks so they are on theme too.</p>



<p>Adding pearls to a bouquet or centrepieces can give an extra ‘pop’ to the venue, and cake makers often have wonderful techniques such as a lustre to give the pearlescent glow or quite literally covering the fondant in edible pearls.</p>

<p>Wedding dress overskirts are a thing for 2024. Overskirts are a detachable skirt which add an additional layer to the wedding dress around the waistline, and are usually made from a lightweight material. Basically it&#8217;s Build-a-Dress! Give your day drama with this on-trend idea and get the best of both worlds &#8211; an elegant ceremony dress that you can whip off on the dance floor, letting you shake those moves with zero holdbacks. Overskirts are becoming more available, mix and match them for the versatile dress of your dreams. </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-3-high-impact-florals">3. High impact florals</h2>

<p>Florals will always be a focal point on a wedding day, bringing natural beauty to the day in any season and creating a real ‘wow moment’. Flower meadows featured heavily in 2023 and I don’t see this changing soon but they are evolving into displays around the cake or champagne towers and into waterfall centrepieces, taking over with tall, slim candles in matching colour tones. </p>



<p>Statement archways remain popular and we are so lucky to have a natural one at Brockencote Hall that blooms in early June, with white and coral roses. Look for geometric shapes, metallic accents, and striking ceremony backdrops. Florals are going bigger and bolder with oversized bouquets and cascading installations.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-4-monochrome">4. Monochrome</h2>

<p>We are seeing a rise in sleek modern styles with the wedding party adorning a monochrome colour palette. Black tie and black bridesmaid dresses mean it is so easy to re-create whilst providing consistency across the photographs too, however it doesn’t need to be all black, couples can create monotone with any colours to make it personal to them, their style and their vision of the day. </p>



<p>I recommend tying the same floral colours with details such as on colourful napkins or ribbons on bouquets. The Pantone Colour of the Year 2024 is peach fuzz – a romantic tone which would work nicely for this.</p>

<p>We are finding that to help ease the wedding blues, gathering close friends and family together the day after the wedding is a must for 2024. Couples are looking to extend their celebrations in many different ways, from a champagne brunch to an informal BBQ if the weather is right.</p>



<p>At Brockencote Hall, we’ve found staying on the grounds for afternoon tea is a popular option during the summer months, which are always beautiful out on our terrace. This also allows guests to enjoy more time with the couple, enjoy a relaxing break, and explore local areas. You could go all out with a second day of activities including a spa day followed by an evening dinner.</p>

<p>For couples wanting a theme, a rather new but popular one is hosting an Après Ski style wedding which brings the Alps to the UK. It works well for both intimate and larger weddings and can incorporate traditional or modern styling with blankets and faux fur throws to add some cosiness to the aesthetics.</p>



<p>Other great ideas include a gluhwein welcome drink, hot dog canapès, adding firepits in the evening, s’mores as favours, and an archway of skis intertwined with foliage and fairy lights to make a great backdrop. You can even hire a snow machine to complete the look!</p>
