Can't be faffed to juggle seven pots at once? Chillax, just order in. Try one of these Gloucestershire or Worcestershire Sunday roasts for a crackingly easy end to the week.

The Suffolk Arms, Non prep Roast in a box, Cheltenham

The kitchen wizards at The Suffolk Arms have come up with a brilliant idea. Meet the ‘non-prep Sunday roast box’. Like the sound of topside of beef, beef dripping roast potatoes, carrots and parsnips, butter braised red cabbage, yorkshire puddings, cauliflower cheese and beef and red wine gravy? Us too. A sharer for two with all the trimmings costs £26 or go for a family box for £35. They come with simple cooking instructions. Just order the boxes via the website by 8pm on Friday for collection on Saturday before 6pm. And all ready in an hour.

St Michael’s Bistro, Painswick, Glos

As if you need a reason to go to pretty-as-a-picture Painswick anyway, now family-run St Michael’s Bistro is serving up the most delicious Sunday roast takeaways. Lovingly prepared in-house by chef Marin Petre and his wife Catalina, order for one to be cooked ready for you to eat or pre-prepped so you can reheat at home in your own time. Open from 12pm to 4pm on Sundays for chicken, pork or beef with all the trimmings but make sure to book ahead, these ones get snapped up fast.

The Farmers Boy, Longhope, Glos

Say hellooo to the Pie Roast! This award-winning local fave in Longhope between Gloucester and the Forest of Dean has created this mouth-watering dish – beef and gravy roast topped with puff pastry and Yorkshire pudding with all the trimmings on the side. Come to mama … order through the website, the Just Eat app or Facebook page for collection or delivery straight to your door.

The Tavern Inn, Kemble, Glos

The Tavern’s roasts are cooked fresh each week using only locally sourced vegetables and meats if you want to keep your meal super sustainable and local. They are available for collection between 12pm and 2pm and you can place your order by Facebook or on 01285 770216. Go the whole (roast) hog and get ALL four sunday roast meats for £15 on your plate. Mmmm.

The Trouble House, near Tetbury, Glos

This fabulously quirky pub was taken over by Jacqui and Alyn Squires during lockdown 1.0. So if you want to show your support order one of their absolutely delicious takeaway roasts for collection on a Sunday between 12pm and 2.30pm. There’s a choice of chicken or aged roast beef for £15 with all the extras and there’s a ‘pudding of the week’ for only £5 too. We’re in. Make sure to book by Saturday at 12pm before they sell out.

The Find, Cheltenham, Glos

You may think the Find is one of the best artisan coffee houses in Chelt (you’re right) but take another look, because you can now order your Sunday roast feast from here. Their normally epic brunches have morphed into take away slap-up meals, with the freshest local ingredients, cooked and delivered to your doorstep. Only £18, including a choice of homemade dessert too, make sure to order by a Friday through the website and choose from beef or pork or chicken or vegetarian wellington. Ready for home delivery or collection, all you need to do is a little reheat and voila ….

Worcs

The FlyLord Inn, Flylord Flavell, Worcs

Just 15 minutes from Worcester city centre in Flyford Flavell this lovely country pub is serving up stripped back rustic takeaways. On a Sunday there’s a mouth-watering menu to indulge in after that wintery walk at great prices. Go for Sirloin of beef for £13, chicken for £12 or Belly Pork for £12, all served with the full monty (roasties, red cabbage, yorkies etc). Available for collection between 12pm and 3pm.

Ostlers at No.1, Worcester, Worcs

Head to the heart of Worcester for a Sunday pick-me-up. Sunday roasts are available between 12pm and 5pm (later than many other places) you can just rock up, but pre-order if you can before the day to avoid disappointment. It’s really easy to order via their website with your preferred pick up time then enjoy the likes of roast chicken or beef topside, honey glazed parsnips, cauliflower cheese and crackling sunday sides.

The Fleece Inn, near Evesham, Worcs

One of the best value roast in a box we’ve found so far – this wpopular rustic inn is serving up takeaway roasts on Sundays from £10. What’s not to like. Choose from chicken, lamb, beef, pork or even nut roast and there are also gluten-free options. Opt for takeaway or delivery, and order online or by phone.

The Why Not Inn, Redditch, Worcs

There’s an amazing choice of seven Sunday roasts here including the aptly named The BIG ONE (£16) which comes with or gammon with all the trimming and seasonal greens. Plump for a Vegan Mushroom Wellington as an alternative and they do Kids Roasts too from just £7. You can order extra sides like pigs in blankets from the drop down menu online and there is a choice of collection or delivery from 12pm to 5.45pm.

The White Hart Inn, Droitwich Spa, Worcs

This traditional pub run by owners Jim and Helen prides itself on serving up hearty Sunday roasts and their takeaways are brilliant value. Served up between 12pm and 3pm on a Sunday your choice of chicken or beef with the trimmings is priced at £11. Throw in a family sized home-made crumble for an extra £7 too and bribe the kids to do all the washing up – win win. Phone through your order on 01905 451363.
