<p>Inspired by macrobiotic cuisine, this café is always busy and for good reason. A strong local favourite, the Star Anise team serve up a varied and seasonal menu of wholefoods, organic, veggie and vegan dishes, alongside in-house baked treats. Make a beeline for the feta, mushroom and spinach toasties on sourdough, they are utterly delicious.</p>

<p>Authentic Sri Lankan street food awaits at this restaurant in a quirky setting. Many of the dishes are dairy-free, and a large menu offers plenty of vegan choices, including traditional Kothu, spicy polenta battered mushrooms, coconut sambol, pineapple curry and Fat Sister – pumpkin in coconut cream. Try the Roots Menu packed with tasty vegan dishes inspired by Sri Lankan culture, climate, and natural ingredients.</p>

<p>This Stroud institution serves up a scrumptious range of healthy favourites such as avocado on sourdough, an exotic salad bar and Turmeric and Ginger Chai along with great coffee from Ross-on-Wye. Arranged over two floors with a seperate kids room (and good kids vegan options too).</p>

<p>Gloucester&#8217;s Korean kitchen on Westgate Street &#8211; the first Korean restaurant in the city &#8211; serves up a selection of vegan options, from fried dumplings with vegetables and tofu to sizzling bibimbap, kimchi fried rice and noodles. There&#8217;s even a choice of Korean fusion food such as kimchi fries with tofu, tofu Seoul toast and a Korean tofu burrito.</p>

<p>Recently opened in Stroud town centre is this healthy eatery and smoothie bar. Enjoy a whole range of delicious healthy snacks, superfood breakfast bowls, Buddha bowls, soul nourishing hot drinks, detoxifying juices and smoothies. And whilst you&#8217;re there book in for one of the brilliant daily yoga or meditation classes on offer upstairs.</p>

<p>This purely vegan-dedicated restaurant does sit-ins and takeaways. Using locally sourced food, the menu is inspired by Kenyan, Asian and South American food, with dishes like samosa chaat, cassava chips, enchiladas and Thai green curry. There’s also a selection of decadent desserts, including a biscoff and coffee cheesecake you will fall in love with. Guaranteed.</p>

<p>Super fresh, vegan, and 100% gluten-free Thai food is the mainstay of the Bangkok Canteen. Made from locally sourced produce and tofu made in the UK there is an extensive menu to choose from including fried sweetcorn cakes and veg tempura, while spice-nuts will adore the tofu kapraw – stir-fried tofu with chilli, garlic and Thai basil.</p>

<p>This great Malvern eatery does a stand out vegan brunch as well as a vegan evening menu for all palates. Most ingredients are locally sourced and highlights include the tapas dishes, cauliflower steak and fries and a delish vegan fig burger.</p>

<p>The popular 288 Bar and Wok is a little heavenly pocket of Hong Kong on Cheltenham’s High Street. There is a great menu here for vegans with a wide choice of mouth-watering Asian cuisine. Try the tofu curry or wraps or plump for a vegan platter with tempura vegetables.</p>

<p>Yes, it&#8217;s a burger joint, but these winners of the National Burger Awards make the meanest vegan patties. As well as  offering a unique menu of loaded fries, cocktails and boozy milkshakes for any carnivore companions you&#8217;ll find three great alternative options, the Beanie Boy (one of my favourite veggie burgers it&#8217;s so good), the Leafy Boy and the Mac Patty Boy. </p>
