From Love Island sweethearts to the countryside&#8217;s hottest double act, Will Young and Jessie Wynter have swapped fire pits and villa drama for muddy boots, podcast mics and life on a farm. 



The pair, who met on Love Island UK in 2023, have racked up a devoted following thanks to their candid take on relationships and rural life with their hit Farmer Will &amp; Jessie podcast.



The couple are on the star speaker roster at this year&#8217;s <a href="https://royalthreecounties.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Royal Three Counties Show</a>, which returns to Malvern from Fri 12 – Sun 14 June. A three-day countryside extravaganza packed with prize-winning livestock, foodie finds, shopping, thrilling arena action and celebs from Kaleb Cooper to Kelvin &amp; Liz Fletcher.

We caught up with Will and Jessie to talk farm-life disasters, their cool new meal kit venture, Club Sunday, and whether a Cotswolds wedding could be on the cards&#8230;



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-you-ve-made-farming-cool-to-a-new-generation-what-have-been-your-best-and-worst-moments-so-far">You’ve made farming cool to a new generation, what have been your best &#8211; and worst &#8211; moments so far?</h2>



W: One my proudest achievements has been building our online audience and seeing how many people are genuinely interested in following our journey.



I love sharing what real life looks like in farming, and it’s actually what led to me being picked up for Love Island in the first place. Since then the opportunities that have come from it have been incredible, so it&#8217;s something I’m really grateful for.

I’ve had the chance to work with the Prince and Princess of Wales on a mental health campaign alongside a farming charity, and with the Bill Gates Foundation, which took me to Kenya to see first-hand the work being done there. That was a real eye-opener. Moments like that highlight how important the UK farming community is, and I feel very proud to be part of it. 



As for disasters… one that definitely stands out is just before I went on Love Island. My dad and I had planned to lamb around 100 sheep early, but while I was away, a ram must have got out, he ended up having to lamb around 300 on his own! So I don’t think I was the most popular person whilst I was in the villa but I definitely made up for it when I got back.

J: One of the biggest surprises for me has been just how beautiful the UK countryside is. It’s so incredibly green in a way that feels almost picture-perfect and there’s a real sense of history and character to it. There’s something quite special and timeless about the landscape here.



But more than anything, it’s been the farming community that’s really stood out, I don’t think I fully appreciated before just how many family-run farms there are, and how much pride and care goes into them. There’s a real sense of resilience and togetherness, especially given how challenging things can be for British farmers at the moment. Moving here has definitely given me a whole new perspective and appreciation for countryside life.







<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-where-do-you-both-love-escaping-to-when-you-want-a-proper-switch-off">Where do you both love escaping to when you want a proper switch-off? </h2>

W: We absolutely love the Cotswolds. It’s such a beautiful part of the country, and the quality of food there is incredible, amazing pubs, brilliant local producers, and just a really relaxed atmosphere everywhere.



We also love getting down to Cornwall, even if the weather isn’t quite Australia, it’s still so nice for Jessie to be by the sea, and there’s something about coastal food that’s hard to beat. Fresh seafood, local ingredients, it’s always amazing. We’re massive foodies, so anywhere that champions local produce, we’re all for it.

W: Well, we’re both very competitive &nbsp;there’s always some kind of challenge or game going on between us at home. That being said, I don’t want to sound biased, but I think I’d win most of them!



Sheep-showing would definitely be mine I’ve got the home advantage there. Tractor-driving as well, although I did try to teach Jessie once… and let’s just say it was a very short lesson because I was slightly concerned for my safety. Jessie might have me beat in something like a beauty contest &nbsp;I’ll give her that one.







<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-you-can-each-bring-one-thing-home-from-the-show-a-champion-cow-unlimited-cheese-or-a-vintage-land-rover-which-are-you-choosing-and-why">You can each bring one thing home from the show: a champion cow, unlimited cheese, or a vintage Land Rover. Which are you choosing and why?</h2>



W: It would have to be a pair of Highland cows! Even though we’re a sheep farm, we’ve somehow ended up with quite the collection of animals over time emus, donkeys, horses, goats, pigs, alpacas… we seem to adopt something new every now and then.



So I feel like Highland cows are the one thing we’re missing. They’d fit in perfectly and I don’t think it would take much convincing to bring a pair home.

J: We’re doing things a little differently this year. Normally we attend the show and just have fun walking round, seeing the livestock and catching the celeb speakers. But this time we’re actually hosting with <a href="https://www.clubsunday.co.uk/?srsltid=AfmBOoqVoxSfuVggloDgH2qGVCXWdZCrtYk8GEoDoAoH_AKshPsShWvY" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Club Sunday</a> &#8211; it&#8217;s an incredibly exciting new project for us.







<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-that-sounds-pretty-cool-what-s-it-all-about">That sounds pretty cool, what’s it all about?</h2>



J: It&#8217;s basically a Sunday roast meal kit! We love the idea of sitting together and sharing good food around a table and celebrating good local British produce &#8211; so we came up with this.

For us, it’s been about going back to basics. Eating whole, seasonal foods, knowing the ingredients, and supporting British farmers in the process. We always say, if you turn a packet over and can’t recognise what’s in it, then maybe it’s not something we should be eating.



So with our <a href="https://www.clubsunday.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Club Sunday</a> meal kits, which we create with our chef Ed, it’s about education and storytelling as well. We want to bring people along on that journey helping them understand nutrition, where food comes from, and why it matters.







<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-what-tips-or-advice-do-you-have-for-making-more-conscious-choices">What tips or advice do you have for making more conscious choices?</h2>



J: We always say it starts with awareness. Just taking a moment to look at what you’re buying. If it’s British, that’s always a great place to begin. And in terms of ingredients, keep it simple: if you can’t recognise or pronounce something, it’s worth questioning. Generally, the shorter the ingredient list, the better.



The idea with Club Sunday is to show people the full journey of food, from farm to fork, because that understanding has largely been lost. 







<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-what-podcasts-tv-or-books-are-you-l-oving-right-now">What podcasts, TV or books are you loving right now?</h2>



W: We’ve been really enjoying Clarkson’s Farm. What it’s done for farming, particularly in bringing the realities of the industry to a wider audience, has been incredible. It’s honest, it’s entertaining, and it gives people a genuine insight into the challenges farmers face, which is why it resonates with so many.

W: Well, there’s a lot in the pipeline. We’d love to do more TV, and farming will always be a huge part of what we do. Australia is something we’re particularly interested in as it&#8217;s where I&#8217;m from, and the idea of spending more time out there and exploring farming in a completely different environment is really exciting.



And then there’s the wedding of course!… let&#8217;s just say it’s definitely being talked about. We haven’t started planning properly yet because it’s been such a busy time, especially with launching the business, but it’s on the horizon. 



Jessie is very keen on the idea of two weddings &#8211; one in Australia and one in the UK &#8211; whereas I&#8217;m slightly more conscious of what that might cost. The Cotswolds could be a contender as well! It’s such a beautiful setting. For now though, we’re just enjoying the moment and we’ll get to it when things settle down a bit.
