Ingleside House, Cirencester
A luxury boutique hotel with huge personality, sumptuous dining and an acclaimed theatre in the heart of the Cotswolds
Boutique bolthole Ingleside House opened its doors in May and has given the Cotswolds a fabulously-welcome shot of glamour. One of the boldest, punkiest editions to the Glos hotel scene, if you are searching for something a level above your two-a-penny, honey-stoned inn, then you have come to the right check-in.
Having undergone a quite magical, wonderland-feel makeover, the hotel is pitched at the stylish traveller, offering 11-bedrooms and brimming with cool design elements. Think floor to ceiling character, colour-pop furnishings and cool artwork dripping from the walls. We reckon this hotel is one of the most Instagrammable spaces in Glos with its mash-up of traditional features (think old fireplaces and wooden staircases) teamed with an exuberant styling even Andy Warhol would approve of.
But it’s not just a rather cool place to stay, the hotel is also home to the acclaimed Barn Theatre so you can pop next door to see an award-winning show or flick whilst you’re here, and in its cellar you’ll come across Téatro, a much-lauded, funky restaurant with a delicious menu of cocktails and curated wine to keep you happy. Newly opened too is The Firepit, a heated alfresco courtyard where you can sample delicious dishes from breakfast through to brunch and dinner, sometimes with live music on special evenings.
Attention to detail is everything at Ingleside, and you notice it immediately when you step into the individually designed rooms. Flump down onto super king beds bedecked with sumptuous linen and choose from a range of rooms, including Signature Super King Rooms with colourful bathrooms and study desks, Deluxe Super King rooms with free-standing hot-tubs, and the Carling Suite, a spectacular apartment-style space with all the luxuries you could wish for and a four poster bed to boot. You can even book flowers, chocolates and champagne for when you arrive (all three why not!) to make your stay super special.
The hotel has the coolest of residents lounges to hang out in and you’re just seconds away from the pretty centre of Cirencester, with its regular Farmers’ and Charter Markets, cafes, bars, boutiques and Roman museum.
