Jolly Nice Christmas Forest, Frampton Mansell, Cirencester

Every year Jolly Nice paddock transforms into an enchanting forest of over 1000 trees, lit with festoons and smelling of pine needles. Super sustainable, with most grown in Gloucestershire and Herefordshire, the forest has trees of all sizes, from tiny ones to majestic 16 footers. Westonbirt Arboretum Real Trees, Tetbury

Buy your tree here and money from each sale going towards maintaining Forestry England woodlands for future gens. Price start from a very reasonable £30+ for a 4ft-er (up to £70+ for an 8 footer if you’re feeling brave). Experts are on hand to advise and help you choose from the hundreds on offer. Plus, don’t miss the magical Enchanted Christmas from 29 Nov, a fabulously dazzling light trail. Open from 29 November. You can also get one free adult admission to the arboretum with every tree sold (valid 2 Jan – 28 Feb).

Winstones, Stroud

Winstones has transformed into a magical Christmas tree parlour for the festive season, stocking locally-grown, Norway spruces, Nordmann firs and blue spruces. The well known stop-off for the best ice-cream in the Cotswolds also offers environmentally-friendly, living rental trees, which you can return again after the festive season!

They come in different sizes from 3ft to 10ft, with a 3ft live tree costing from £45, which includes a £15 deposit that is returned to you when the tree is brought back (check site for details). Attached to your tree?! You can even have the same one back next year. They also deliver to the surrounding area, get yours from Sat 25 November. PLUS – meet the herd of darling Randwick Reindeer who’ll be visiting on 25 November at 3pm.

Exedra Nursery, Painswick

Pick up your tree from a nursery business that has been supplying Glos for 20 years. Now based at the stunning Painswick Rococo Garden, the trees are grown in the West Country by a family with years of experience. Find a classically shaped, healthy tree that’ll last, from Nordmann firs to Norway spruces, which are cut to order and delivered to the nursery within a matter of days. Dowdeswell Forestry, Cheltenham

Get everything up to a 14-feet tall tree at this great farm which has been selling Christmas trees since 1985. The Forest Squad is on hand to net your Nordmann firs, Norway spruces, or American varieties like noble firs. Dowdeswell also offers free delivery on winter logs and go for its Christmas tree collection and recycling service when the fun’s all over in January. Choose your own, or let the team pick one for you and have it delivered. Open from Fri 29 November.

Batsford Arboretum, Batsford

Combine a visit to the gorgeous Batsford Arboretum with a family outing to find your tree, there are both pre-cut and pot-grown options available from Norway spruces and non-drop Nordmanns to Fraser firs. Warm up in the the newly refurbished Garden Terraced Café with a large hot chocolate then browse beautifully handmade wreaths and sparkly decorations. Open from Sat 23 November, cost from £25.

Cirencester Christmas Trees, Cirencester

Stocking a huge range of trees, including quality Nordmann firs and fragrant blue spruces, this place has been going 30+ years and is really popular for trees in the area. Browse for your perfect tree then go tot the nursery to pick pretty decorations or scented wreaths for your door. From as little as £22, and open the earliest we’ve seen, on 16 November.

Top Barn Farm, Holt Heath Farm, Worcester

The trees at Top Barn have been grown for an average of eight years (and tended lovingly by farmer John) which that means zero tree miles! So a great choice if you want a bit of your Christmas to be carbon neutral.  And if you can’t find your dream tree from the ones out you can even choose your tree whilst it is still in the ground, one of the team will chop it down for you. Choose from Nordmann Firs and Blue Spruces. Open from 23 November.

Little Monksfield Farm Trees, Malvern

This no-fuss farm shop is a tree treasure trove of minimal-drop firs and spruces. All home-grown so they’re super fresh, the farm is open every day from 8.00am until dark. A great one-stop-shop if you want to pick up a lovely festive, handmade wreath or foliage and why not pick up a pot of their famous honey from the farm bees too (perfect for those Christmas day parsnips). Christmas Trees and Wreaths, Over Farm, Gloucester

This brilliant farm has a tree for every budget. Want a whopper? They specialise in 8ft+ trees, but equally if you are looking for something for the kids room, hallway or even a table why not consider one of their ‘log trees’. These trees would not make it into full trees and rather than casting them out, they have fit the tree to a log to stand it up! All grown ethically in Glos, they are priced from £6.50, so excellent value for money. All other trees priced at £6 per foot. One of the biggest Christmas tree selections in Glos with a tree delivery service in the local area for £25. Open from 30 November.

Jolly Pines Christmas Trees, Chipping Campden

This year partnering with Kaleb Cooper Construction (now that’s a conversation starter!) no imports here, just locally grown Narrow Nordmann fir trees on local farms. Starting at £70 for a 5 footer, there is free collection and delivery on all trees too.

The Natural Christmas Tree Co, Tibberton

Get a clear conscience this year by buying a sustainable tree from a small and passionate family business, which has sold high-quality and sustainably grown Christmas trees from Prestbury Farm for a decade now. Choose from its wide range of trees then visit the Christmas Barn too and enjoy a mince pie and hot drink. Open from 23 November.

Wick Street Farm, Stroud

Find your tree at this lovely little farm between Painswick and Stroud, there’s a gorgeous alpine style café called Wild too, to seek out a cockle-warming hot chocolate and sausage roll before having a browse around the Christmas shop. Open from 23 November.
