<p>This classy Cotswold establishment is an 18th century traditional English coaching inn in the picturesque village of Filkins. It recently had a stylish makeover and is a gorgeous, down to earth inn with great food. Enjoy a drink in the spacious flag stoned bar and sink in for the day in one of the large leather Chesterfields by the crackling fire. The friendly team make it a lovely place to spend time.</p>

<p>Taking an amble down Tetbury&#8217;s elegant high street? Then you have to stop off at The Close. A super-friendly, laid back pub with rooms, it has lots of cosy corners and the most glorious huge fireplaces with roaring fires &#8211; including a huge one that greets you when you step in through the front doors. Located a short drive away from Westonbirt Arboretum, head here after a gorgeous walk, and dogs are made very welcome too.</p>

<p>The Crown in Ampney Crucis near Cirencester is a top place for a wintery hangout.
